At RNSIT, undergraduate students have a well structured and formal mechanism to involve in research through innovative projects. The Undergraduate Research Forum (URF) is one such platform. To motivate students to develop passion in research and carry out hands-on projects, the Research Council at RNSIT has instituted the ‘Student Research Excellence Award’, as a recognition of the student’s research accomplishments during the entire 4-year stay in the institution. The award is at the institution level. Based on a selection criteria and the research accomplishments of the students, the award can be grated to more than one student by the selection committee. Following are the Criteria to grant the award at the end of the four-year degree:

• Participation and successful completion of URF and Research Seed Grant projects with close supervision from the faculty
• Engagement as a Research Assistant
• Participation in Hackathons
• Publication of Journal and Conference papers
• Filing of Patents
• Involvement in industry collaboration projects
