RNS Institute of Technology, familiar as RNSIT was established in the year 2001. It is the brainchild of Dr. R. N. Shetty, well known industrialist, and a great philanthropist. The institution was established with a sole purpose of imparting quality education in Engineering, Technology and Management. Being one of the premier engineering colleges in the country RNSIT is marching towards placing itself in the global map by excelling in academics and placements.

Brief History
Founded by a great visionary Dr. R N Shetty, a renowned name in the industries viz construction, manufacturing, hotel, automobile, power & IT services, and education, RNSIT has been scripting history in the field of technical education. Right from its inception in the year 2001, the institution is showing exemplary growth with respect to academics, placements, sports and cultural activities. With 8 UG engineering branches, 2 PG courses and 9 R&D centres RNSIT is aiming towards becoming the premier engineering institutes in the world.

RNSIT Facilities
Laboratories
All the branches of engineering have state of the art laboratories with computers with latest configurations, licensed software, hardware, sensors, motors, machines to cater the hands-on experience to students.
Auditorium
The campus has a majestic auditorium with 1200 seating capacity and world-class Audio-Visual system.
Canteen
Canteen being the most preferred hangout place serves the craving students from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
Playground
There are three huge playgrounds to cater the sport enthusiasts with facilities for Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Athletics.
Gymnasium
Gym facility is extended to both boys and girls. The gymnasium is well maintained and houses well maintained fitness related equipments
Hostel
There are three hostels, two for boys and one for girl students. Hostel rooms are well ventilated and are with attached facilities. Food is served in the mess by Sodexo, a leader in hospitality services.

Our esteemed Founder Dr. R N Shetty, born on August 15, 1928, is a renowned Industrialist, Educationalist, and a great philanthropist. Being a great visionary, Dr. R N Shetty is an architect behind numerous constructions, bridges, dams, roads, canals, temples, hospitals, hospitality Industries, automobile showrooms and the list goes endless. RNSIT was established in 2001 by our Revered founder Chairman of RNS Trust, Dr. R N Shetty, with a vision to build a Centre of Excellence in the field of Technical Education supported by team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty and staff.
As Principal of RNSIT, I feel honored and privileged to be part of a higher education Institution that believes in creating learner centric ecosystem in campus for every stakeholder where education is treated as a multistage process of building character, acquiring knowledge and improving skills for lifelong learning.

Dr. Ramesh Babu H S, Principal
Dr. Ramesh Babu H S, Principal, RNSIT has nearly 3 decades of teaching, research and administration experience. Completed Graduation in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangalore University, Post graduation from BITS, Pilani and Ph. D from VTU.
Currently he is Academic Senate Member, VTU, Belagavi and has vast experience of serving in various committees of VTU and AICTE.
Dr. M.K. Venkatesha, Principal (since 2008), RNSIT is a "JC Bose Gold Medalist" and has more than four decades of teaching and administrative experience. He completed his Post Graduation from the University of Manitoba (CANADA) on a fellowship. He brings with him a rich experience of working as a Registrar (Evaluation) of VTU, Belagavi (2001-04), Adviser of AICTE, New Delhi (2004-05) & Principal of BMSCE, Bengaluru (2005-08).
